He recorded numerous Billboard 200-ranked albums with the group, including Discovering the Waterfront, Arrivals & Departures, and A Shipwreck in the Sand, all of which rose to Top 40 Billboard positions and to Top 5 Indie Album spots. He spent his early days in Scarborough, Toronto, Canada. His Silverstein band "family" includes rhythm guitarist Josh Bradford, drummer Paul Koehler, bassist Billy Hamilton, and lead guitarist Paul Marc Rousseau. He began dating Nia Pavesi. He and his bandmates formed Silverstein in early 2000 and released their debut EP, Summer's Stellar Gaze, in August of that year. The band's first studio album, When Broken Is Easily Fixed, appeared in 2003.
