Larry McMurtry is best known as a Screenwriter. An American fiction writer and screenwriter known for his Texas and Old West settings, he is most famous for his 1985 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, Lonesome Dove. He also wrote Terms of Endearment, a 1975 novel that was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film. Larry McMurtry was born on June 3, 1936 in Archer City, TX.
He was raised on a ranch near Archer City, Texas. In 2011, he married Norma Faye Kesey. He received his B.A. from the University of North Texas and his M.A. from Rice University. He published his first novel, Horseman, Pass By, in 1961.
