Kizza Besigye is best known as a Politician. Ugandan politician, doctor, and retired colonel known for being the foremost opposition to president Yoweri Museveni. He unsuccessfully ran against him in the 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2016 elections, all of which have been surrounded by controversy. Kizza Besigye was born on April 22, 1956 in Rukungiri, Uganda.
He married Winnie Byanyima in 1988 and had a son with her. He attended Makerere University, where he studied medicine. He went on to work as Museveni's physician and was appointed as minister of internal affairs when Museveni took power in 1986.
